WOOOHOOO!

I got my Open Licence!  Now I can drink drive and speed :D

Ok for those who don’t know what an open drivers licence is: basically its a full licence.  When you start driving in the state of Queensland in Australia you have to take a written test to get your learner licence.  This means when you drive you have to clearly display an “L” plate (aka LOSER plate) on your car.  You also can only drive under supervision of someone who holds an Open Licence.  After you clock up 100 hours driving and have held your learner licence for a year you can then take your driving test to go for your Provisional Licence (Your “P’s”).

Provisional licence holders have 4 points which you can lose if you break the road rules and they must also display their P plates.  Also provisional licence holders cannot have ANY alcohol in their system whilst driving: Zero tolerance. You must hold your P’s for 3 years without losing your 4 points so you can upgrade to your Open Licence.

Now Open licence holders (such as yours truly :P ), have 12 points and have a blood alcohol limit of 0.05%.  So yeah got a bit more freedom and a little room for error.  Pretty exciting stuff!

Yeah a bit of a milestone :D

Ciao for now!

I feel as though I should add that not all Provisional licence holders have ‘P’ plates on their cars.

We cool people don’t believe in such a thing.

Yeah but the laws changed, ANY new provisional licence holder will need to display their P’s. Any people that got their licence before that new law doesn’t need to display their P’s.

You know that Mitch, but my Zero fans might not :P
