Ok this post is mainly just to open your eye’s to possibly the funniest guy on the planet. I can’t possibly thank my friend JB from my Japanese class enough for telling me about his guy. Who you ask? Hard Gay!
He’s a Japanese ex-Wrestler from Osaka, I don’t think he’s really gay, but its his character.
HE IS HILARIOUS!!!
Some of the things he does just wouldn’t be acceptable in western society, and therefore some might find it offensive, but the Japanese just laugh and have fun with it. Which makes it all the more hilarious to me! I’m constantly watching him, thinking “What on Earth possesses a human being to make himself look like such a douche??”
From his witty comments, expressions, gyrating hips, and “Hooooooo!”‘s – this guy is gonna get you one way or the other.

The first clip is about Hard Gay trying to get kids to eat food they don’t really like.
This next series is about Hard Gay being a personal assistant for a day to a famous Japanese pop singer: Hiromi Go. Hiromi Go is just the best sport you could possibly find, he plays along with Hard Gay and just really makes the clips 2308924 times funnier because of it.

Guess I’m just one of those that doesn’t feel this is appropriate behavior…ah well.
I totally agree! It makes complete sense that this inappropriateness is seen as inappropriate (duh), but to me, the inappropriateness is what makes it funny, and especially since there is a culture out there that accepts this kinda stuff (to a certain degree – there was a bit of an uproar from the gay Japanese community).
If he was offending/upsetting people on screen, then i wouldnt be laughing, but all the people he messes with love it!

lol Sure. Yeah, it’s amazing what things Americans deem unacceptable versus what the Japanese deem unacceptable. Quite interesting.
