Ticket To Kansai Gaidai

Something quite exciting happened yesterday… I bought my first international plane ticket!! (was that sentence even worded correctly?)

So yeah, i’ve never left the shores of Australia before, but I’ve flown between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane a bunch of times. But now… I have a plane ticket… to Osaka… 29th of August, 10:25am…
I’m so excited! This is like a huge deal for me! It quite literally is my ticket to Kansai Gaidai and.. this ticket gives it a sense of formality and is something tangible that will take me away from Australia, and plop me in Japanland. Such a small piece of paper can do so much (after I threw a few hundred dollars at Jetstar).

Now… slight “what if” scenario… Ok so i havent officially received my acceptance pack, so there is still the possibility of me not getting accepted to Kansai Gaidai, however highly unlikely as I’ve been accepted by my university which guarantees my spot (unless Kansai Gaidai has a serious gripe with me). But… even if i dont get accepted… well i still have a flight to Japan, i’ll still go.
It could even be viewed silly, like: “Why wouldn’t you just wait till you’ve been accepted??” Well! As I see it, the tickets i got were as cheap as they could’ve been. If I waited, they would’ve risen in price. There are already tickets, one way, around that date that are as high as $800!!Same airline, same deal, same everything, just less seats available. And whether I use my $400 plane ticket to go to Osaka for a week holiday or a 9 month study session at Kansai Gaidai really doesn’t matter to me. Well it does, I wanna go to Kansai Gaidai, but money wise the ticket gets me to Japan regardless.
I mean I guess there was a slight risk, ever so slight risk, of things not working out… But in the event that they do, i’ll be better off.
*Fingers Crossed!*
Ciao for Now!
