So i left off with my last post saying how great life was… Only to be thrown out of home within the next two days.

Yeah i was homeless for a week, living out of my car… I couldn’t blog at the time obviously because my “house-car” didn’t have wifi (funnily enough).  But throughout the ordeal I carried on with my life, attended uni, work, even gigged before returning to my car and looking for a place to stay.  I thank everyone who helped me.

BUT!  Being the positive person I actually am I embraced the week!  I never really got down and hey, i mean its a glimpse into another lifestyle!  And things always work out if you let it – and sure enough, ive got a room!  So this cozy little garage im living in will tie me over till i go to Japan.

Ah Japan… its creeping up slowly… Only 167 days to go.  Lately Mitch and I have been pretty caught up in the Japan fever… The fact that this is something we’ve been working on since like, July or something last year and now its only 6 months away is just an exciting thought.  Oh to be trapped in another country, surrounded by another culture, with me unable to communicate with the majority is a truly curious lifestyle that i can’t wait to experience.  I’m sure i’ve mentioned it before, but my life never gets THAT exciting.  This exchange WILL BE the best thing that will happen in my ENTIRE life to date.  And i can’t wait!

Anywayz, more on Japan: We’ve been told the next step in our application is to actually apply to Kansai Gaidai.  Not so bad right? WRONG!

  • Application for Admission
  • Housing Questionnaire
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Japanese Instructor’s Reference Form
  • Medical Information Form
  • 10 photographs
  • A copy of my passport

… 10 photographs? 10!?!? … I’ll just supply my Facebook account.  Now all these are like… full on forms… i mean cmon! 3 Letters of recommendations from professors!? That’s just annoying really. Gotta start chasing them next week then.  Oh but i can kill two birds with one stone – Japanese Instructors Reference Form and a Letter of Recommendation can both come from ym Japanese Teacher.

Oh I’d also like to mention that there are MORE forms than those, but I don’t have to do them so… well so technically there aren’t more forms.  So I may be lying.  MAY be…

Oh this blog is gonna be better once it turns into a legitamite Kansai Gaidai Blog when I hit up Hirakata City.

Ciao for Now!

Ahhh, I went to roadtojapan.mpears.com and got redirected here.. the new url looks completely awesome.

Make sure you update any links you have to http://www.mpears.com/blog instead of life.mpears.com.

You should prolly be a lil more pro active with all your references, I’m about to email my reference forms to those Mayumi and Barbara.. all that’s left is Yap and I’m done! speaking of which, I might as well send him an email too.

Hey, I’m from Vox that you commented on a bit ago. I just wanted to make sure you know that for the 10 photographs, it’s 10 of the same passport-type picture. ^_^;;

Hope all goes well! Seems like it’s going smoothly so far though. And I’ll still be in Osaka when you go to KG so if you have any questions or need any help (from someone who can actually speak English :P ) feel free to email or comment or whatever. ^_^v
