Yeah so about those daily Japanese journal entries.  Eeek.  I figure it’s quite apparent that they won’t be posted daily on this blog because I find I don’t have enough time at my own computer to write them.  Or should i say, enough “proper” time.  I hardly have enough time to squeeze in an English post.  So i’ve been writing some journal entries down in my notebook, but I’m never too happy with them.  I’ve been hanging out with friends and my cousin lately, as well as having some late nights at Uni and the very little time I’ve found myself in front of my own computer is at a moment where the last thing I want to do is think.

Even now, I’m at Uni, waiting for a class to start, and using the computers here in the lab to make this post.  Times are tough.

Not really.

But they are for some.  How are the crazy ass earthquakes in Japan! Terrible terrible stuff.  The photos and videos i’ve seen are just simply shocking, like stuff i’d expect to only appear in some Hollywood flick.  But I am super grateful that all my friends are still ok.  Osaka wasn’t really affected, it seems.  But I do feel for everyone who has been affected by the quake, and I wish peace to those affected and a speedy recovery for Japan.

What else happened this past week? I attended a hobo party.  That was fun.  I also hung out at my buddy Tim’s new place.  We worked on a small game for one of our classes (Mobile Devices) at Uni – it was a productive (and, of course, eventful.  Note: “Tim”) afternoon/night to say the least!

でも、今、ことを書くがなちゃった。今日は日本語を勉強したりしごとで働いたりビデオゲームをしたりした。ちょっと楽しくない。。。

I’ve been really wanting to do a lot of blogging lately but, for reasons I’m about to explain, haven’t.  Various sources of inspiration combined with various events have made my life rather interesting lately, for the better or worse – and this is why i’ve been wanting to write.

Reason #1 for not blogging:

Lame reason, so I thought I’d get it out of the way: I’m currently looking into re-locating road2japan to another server with a decent testing environment so that I can experiment more.  What’s that got to do with not blogging? Well, here’s the lame reason: I’ve backed up the database already.  And if I write another post, then… It means i’ll have to back up the database again or do a copy/paste job – I know, lame, pure laziness, but the only reason i held off was because I thought I was going to set up the new environment sooner – but alas, time has eluded me, and that has nothing to do with procrastination! Really! But I swear, this makes up like, 10% of the reason why I haven’t been blogging.

Bah, been a while since the last blogaroo… unfortunately i can’t write blogs if i don’t feel like them – correction! I don’t post blogs that I write when I don’t feel like it because quite simply i’m not happy with them.  And I only want my best goin out there.

However a few things have happened that i need to blog about.  Such as my trip to Arashiyama and my other trip to see the Osaka Sky Building.  Not only that, Mid-terms are about up (still got 1 left) and i’ll blog about that soon.  Also I’d like to write a blog catching up on what life’s been like lately – because trust me, things have changed.  I also need to start my topical blogs about things in Japan (like trains, buses, mobile phones blah blah).

Patience young ones, things need to be done, but they need to be done right.  You’ll love em when they get there.

If my life were a game:

• Writing to this little “Kansai-Gaidai-Exchange-Blog” would be saving my progress (800kb’s)
• I would be level 21
• Definitely a first person adventure
• Geek class with Cool attributes (Hybrid Character)
• Probably boring
• Would be released on the 30 November
• Single Player
• Exclusive to the Playstation [insert generation number]
• Mitch would be the best friend I’ll have to save one day
• 87 collectable Kebab’s scattered across Beenleigh
• Gotta collect Money! It’ll cost $5.20 to train into Uni everyday!
• Can risk eating cheap chinese when low on money – may get indegestion.
• Slightly negative Karma to begin with – but with incentives to make it positive
• The Game would end when I leave for Japan – As we take off the credits start rolling to the sweet sound of Air’s “Alone in Kyoto” playing in the background

Ok so yeah, finally on “holidays” from uni, by holidays i mean study period, although not a lot of studying is taking place.  I’m really over this semester of uni.

I got a new camera!  Woohoo!  I was thinking of waiting till I got to Japan to buy one but I thought I can only steal pictures from other sites for this blog for only so long.
