The road has ended! And boy was it an adventure. This episode of the Road to Japan will cover the final leg of my journey: From the flight to the dorm.
As I sat in the airport this morning with my mum, step father and Amy-chan, things still didn’t really kick in. I felt just as normal as usual, no excitement, nothing. In fact, as I sit here in the computer lab in Seminar house 3 i still feel the same. This is my new life.
The only thing that really stirred up some sort of emotion today was seeing Amy off. She’s been super strong this entire time, never shed a tear, and was only ever excited for me, and she stayed strong this morning. She was laughing and kidding around with me as she always does. So when it came time to go past the 2nd baggage check thingo (passengers only) I said my goodbyes, hugs and kisses and made off for the queue. Well… the queue was a little long so i joined the end of it and i was pretty much still in plain view of everyone that I just said bye to, so was Mitch. So we stood there saying: “This is awkward, we just said bye but we’re right here…”.

30 days and 12 hours till this long ass road ends and i embark for Kansai Gaidai. It’s kinda crazy that this 13 month endeavour of mine is gonna come to an end. But what can i say? Is it exciting? Yeah i guess… Do I feel accomplished? I suppose… Scared? Not really.
A moment of reflection.
This blog was created by moi to document my experiences throughout the application process, and of course my time in Japan. But it was created for me. So that i could look back and relive a very special time in my life. However, things changed. After reading other blogs i figured i wanted to provide other people the enjoyment of reliving someone else’s life experience.
WOOOO!!!!! Pretty cool.. Pretty cool… So yeah, was just chilling when I got a text from Mitch that he received his acceptance!! I was soooo stoked! So i quickly loaded up my email and BAM! It was there! YAY! So I jumped onto my little kansai gaidai blog before i could even take a breath to vent some excitement before i exploded!
That’s right! My Kansai Gaidai Application is in!

So yeah this is a bit of a milestone. It’s been 10 months or so since I began my application to Kansai Gaidai (at the time it was just to Japan), and now it’s over! Just have to wait for my acceptance package which should arrive in a couple weeks. Then with that acceptance package, i’ll move onto my student visa. I also have a mandatory exchange information session that I will have to attend in 3 weeks or so.
Here it is! The next installment of The Road To Japan. And easily the most exciting one yet! And to celebrate – Check out the new header!
