Yeah so… i rocked up to lecture today… walked in just as the “not-lecturer” said “Ok i’ll see you next week!”

WTF
An Actual photo of me at the time

After consulting my buddies they told me that the ACTUAL lecturer was sick and therefore lecture was cancelled.  I could’ve slept in! Oh well, more time to work on assignments I guess.

Centrelink: Finally on my side

Ok so overseas peoples probably won’t know what “Centrelink” is.  So i’ll fill you in (without researching – mistakes may be present).

Centrelink Logo

Centrelink is runned by the Australian Government (i think), they pretty much support people.  They’re kinda like a welfare thing but they do everything.  They supply extra money to students, families, pensioners, the disabled and other people in need.  They also help people gain employment.  They also help… students… who get thrown out of home… 6 months before leaving for a student exchange to Kansai Gaidai, Japan and needs to save all the money they can get… That’s what Centrelink does.  So whilst I’m in Japan I will continue to get payments from them (since i wont be earning money).  This is great news!  Gonna make life easy.  In fact, I’m getting a $500 back payment from them on Monday because they prolonged my application process by 8 weeks.

The Road to Japan 5: Application is in!

That’s right! My Kansai Gaidai Application is in!

yay

So yeah this is a bit of a milestone.  It’s been 10 months or so since I began my application to Kansai Gaidai (at the time it was just to Japan), and now it’s over!  Just have to wait for my acceptance package which should arrive in a couple weeks.  Then with that acceptance package, i’ll move onto my student visa.  I also have a mandatory exchange information session that I will have to attend in 3 weeks or so.

Something quite exciting happened yesterday… I bought my first international plane ticket!! (was that sentence even worded correctly?)

So yeah, i’ve never left the shores of Australia before, but I’ve flown between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane a bunch of times.  But now… I have a plane ticket… to Osaka… 29th of August, 10:25am…

Bring it on Pearson! ... ... what?

Whose Kansai Gaidai blog will come out on top? Stay tuned folks.

Mwahahaha i am once again in Melbourne visiting my dad.  Been here for a couple days now, DIDN’T miss my flight this time around (see Road to… Melbourne?).  So yeah that was handy.

relax

The past few days have been pretty cool, quite relaxed.  Been working on assignments whilst just chillin.  I really needed this break.  Just so much going on in my life at the moment, it’s kinda good to just put that on pause for a week.
